Viktor Romanchenko, who won the music show X-Factor 2, unlike the winner of the first season, Oleksii Kuznetsov, stayed in Ukraine and continued building his career. His life changed dramatically, as before the project he worked as a physical education teacher at a university. How Viktor Romanchenko became famous across the country The artist was born in 1978 in Bilozerka, Kherson region, where he graduated from secondary school. Alongside his studies, he practiced Greco-Roman wrestling at a sports school and achieved notable success. Romanchenko even took part in the World Championship in Poland, but after graduation he did not continue developing in that direction. In 2002, Viktor graduated from Kherson State University with honors. He stayed at the Department of Physical Education and began working as a PE teacher. During his university years and afterward, he performed at concerts held at the university and in concert halls across Kherson. In 2010, Romanchenko participated in the music show X-Factor, where he became the winner. In the superfinal, he competed with Oleh Kenzov and won the main prize of 2 million hryvnias. Two years later, Viktor performed on the same stage as the legendary band Queen and Adam Lambert. They sang together at a charity concert. Romanchenko was also invited to perform alongside Elton John and Queen at concerts in Kyiv. The winner of X-Factor 2 tried to qualify for Eurovision 2014 and even made it into the top 20 performers, but did not win the national selection. He also attempted to enter Eurovision 2022 with the song “Unbreakable,” for which the melody was written by a Spanish vocalist, but he did not pass the selection. Where Viktor Romanchenko is now and what he does After winning the show, Romanchenko continued to develop his music career. Before the war, he lived between four cities: Lutsk, Kyiv, Odesa, and his hometown Bilozerka in the Kherson region. However, he spent most of his time in Kyiv, where he created new hits and performed concerts. When the war began, in April Viktor released a track dedicated to the events in Ukraine. It was the song “Unbreakable,” the lyrics of which he wrote very quickly, and then completed the arrangement, recorded vocals, and finalized the mix within two weeks.
